Employee of the YEAR 2017!

Mr. Steve

Mr. Steve is our winner for the Employee of the Year! Mr. Steve has does a tremendous amount of work for all three centers. Whether that be picking up food orders, repairing something in the building, or getting one of our buses in for repair. He does a fantastic job of keeping our building clean. He is always willing to help out with any type of situation that may come up. The kids really seem to like having Mr. Steve around. Many of the kids will ask him to do his Donald Duck impersonation. The kids just laugh when he does this. Mr. Steve is always very friendly to staff, parents, and the children in the building. Overall, Mr. Steve is a great addition to the Little Jewels family. We would like to thank you for everything you do each and every day and how much we appreciate it!

Little Jewels Way Award 2017

Ms. Karen

Ms. Karen has been with Little Jewels for 10 years and has truly lived up to the Little Jewels Way. She most recently was given the task of heading up our Treasures after school program at Corpus Christi. She oversees 11 part time staff there and plans activities for the 80 kids who attend the program! Karen also is the lead teacher in the Ladybug room at Oakland! Although those are her primary responsibilities she is flexible and will do anything asked of her. You may see her answering the phone or helping with graduation. Her crafts are awe-inspiring, and she often works on weekends and long after her shift to make sure things are perfect.

We consistently hear parents say that she is a fantastic teacher and many families still stop by her room to chat long after their child has moved on. She has a genuine and loving relationship with every family that makes her stand out. Her no nonsense, but loving approach is appreciated by the parents of these very young children, may of whom are first time parents. Her attitude of care, compassion and dedication are truly the foundation that Little Jewel’s is built upon. You can always count on Karen to make you smile!
